Transport KTN Innovation Foundation Master Class
Outline
Since its inception, the Low Carbon Vehicles Innovation platform has invested £250m through 112 co-funded industry projects creating over 440 company and academic engagements [1]. Accelerating the technology to market is a key impact that IDP7 projects must deliver, by working as a consortium your innovation will gain vital credibility, experience, visibility whilst developing the expertise of your team.
To learn how to manage accelerated innovation to market, you are invited to attend the Transport KTN’s Innovation Foundation Master Class, at the Boardroom in Warwick Manufacturing Group's (WMG) International Digital Laboratory on February 2nd, 2012.
At the Master Class you will learn how to use the innovation management techniques that were developed to deliver 26 projects in the intensive 12-month ‘Grand Challenge’ programme. The Technology Strategy Board championed this with industry to spur new thinking and new ideas in order to deliver a major leap forward in high-performance technology [2].
Purpose
80% of businesses say innovation is vital to the future and only 4% report doing sufficient about it. This is a seminar for anyone who wants to create an organisation that is fit for innovation. You will consider the key elements and areas of focus that are necessary in order to foster a climate for innovation, and learn some tools and techniques for making it happen.
Innovation, project management and change are complex. In an effort to understand them and make them understandable, many people fall back on simplistic structural approaches to redesigning people, products and organisations. These inevitably fail because it is the people and the way they behave that permits new ways of working to function, or not. It is not the systems and structures.
Objective
By sharing successful and proven innovation management techniques, the Innovation Master Class will enable participants to build the foundations for the strong and open relationships that are required to develop, manage and deliver an effective collaboration project.
